lunch

lunchtime can be hilarious around here.
joshua and i left to our own devices...today, shu discovered he could see me when the digital camera was aimed away from him. and, miracle of miracles, that he could make a face for a picture and then see himself immediately. clearly, we had to make the most of the new discoveries.

also.
our word for delicious food is 'numee.' as in, NUHH-MMEEEE. and nothing breaks shua out into song like a good chocolate chip cookie.

obviously my child.

for nixy

hey lady.

do you remember buying shu this towel? we laughed so freaking hard about how huge it was and how long it would be until his teeny little melon filled out the bear hood.

well, aim, the little man's cranium has grown (and grown and grown...but that's another story), and here we are. he loves the thing...although i still have to find a cubs patch to sew on there.

enjoy the pictures, nixy.
we love you!

whee-uls and naaaaays

number 8 in my sibling line-up is mo, and just about every parade-y holiday she can be found all dolled up in a white button-down, kilt, torturous black shoes holding sweet drumsticks complete with little puffs on the ends. we can't get enough.

shua and i met up with maggie, nana, the great-nana and boompa yesterday to watch mo strut her stuff with her bagpiping, drum beating irish band. mark, taking his dual love of days off and sleeping past noon very seriously, opted to stay home.

there were trucks by the dozen filled with kids winging candy and little ponies pulling carts. shu took his job as spectator to heart. flag in one hand, disgusting "vanilla" tootsie roll in the other, he sat in mag's lap the entire 45 minutes.

there were only two words: whee-uls and naaaaays.

the littlest kanye

thanks to a quick trip through urban outfitters
and their current $10 sunglasses display
(run, don't walk),
we now have a miniature kanye on our hands.

and, yes,
oversized (somewhat ridiculous) sunglasses
can only make him stronger.

{neebs, i think this is where we might throw in a "Lord love me," no??}

i ain't saying anything, dada, but allow me...

peace.

seal, revisited

the more we watched this video, the harder we laughed along with shu.
i hope his giggle comes through the speakers well enough to infect you, too.

5/21/09

shua, meet seal

we found a sprinkler today. a seal one.
the shu-man wasn't sure at first, but as you'll see,
he made friends pretty quickly.
he even introduced seal to his car shoe.
(righty. who, when not underfoot, can be found in hand.)

the last picture says it all--
its just me and you, seal.
we got this.

5/19/09

the run

we don't know where it came from.
we don't know why its here.
we don't know how long it will last.
but we can promise you this:
we will film it at every opportunity.

we went to the zoo zoo zoo...

he's the StairMaster

front yard chase

there are times
we find ourselves so delighted
by the return of the DaDa
that all we can do is chase him
and giggle from our bellies.

mmmmm...oatmeal

morning!

locked out

our hero.
i was too short,
too busy taking pictures,
and laughing way to hard
to be of any assistance.
