1st day of school!

little man's backpack- complete with Santo's #10. (thanks, mike!)
turning into the school :)
miss barb, helping the backpack into its rightful position.
when she opened the car door to retrieve shu, he said, "well, hi there."
she said, "i'm miss barb, what's your name?"
to which our little gem replies, "uh, miss shua."

and off he goes.

the drive home

admittedly, there is much to catch you up on.
the shu turned 4, we had an influx of North cousins,
a trip to chicago-- complete with Cubs game.

but, let's have a backwards dinner, shall we?
(remember those? man, i thought we had it made the nights
mom let us "get away" with dessert first.)

i'll begin by saying that our child is the best road tripper i know.
i feel badly for those whose children don't dig the ride.
we experienced that for a trip or two,
but for the last few years,
the shu has been a fantastic backseat roller.

and, when the going gets long,
and the Shu-Mama combo a little slap happy,
gems such as these pop up.

hope they make you giggle :)

8/9/11

finally!

a perfect day to spend at the beach.
throwing rocks in water,
climbing on driftwood,
setting "boats" to sail.

thank you, big fluffly clouds and constant cool breezes!!

the gamechangers

when aunt amy and mike left us last month,
she gifted us these glasses.

we call them The Gamechangers.

something about throwing on a fake pair of frames
changes the game.
makes you feel different and yet still you.
whenever my game needs to change,
i put them on, and presto.
alteration complete.

joshua and haley partook of them
on shu and my most recent
way-last-minute trip to VA.

game on, kids.

pregame

haley's postgame.

check those av's on the shu.

game changed. who's that little brainiac on the left?

and, just FYI: caroline needs no change to her game.
