gymnastics

m & n tried to teach shua how to cartwheel.

here are two resulting videos:

upon further review, we had to add a third...

reading nook

not only do we like reading,
we like reading coloring books.

we particularly like reading coloring books
in plastic storage tubs.

the VA invasion

its taken me way too long to get these pictures up.
mostly because i was hoping to come up with a good story or two-
to somehow convey the joy and entertainment
found in hosting kim, tom & the four.

for now, some pictures.

haleybop and caroline - night #1

working the sunglasses

vogue it out, haley

shua prefers the mismatched jams, pulled up to the knees.

lunch break
(haley had a seat next to joshua at the other end of the table,
but she screamed, "not by shua! not by shua!"
until i sat her on my lap.
at the other end of the table.

i may or may not have felt similarly.

daniel and joshua opted for the Early Out with mark.
i told daniel that shua was going home for a nap, and he could join him.
he loudly proclaimed,
"oh, no. i don't wanna nap, buuuuuuut
maybe i could jus' lay on the couch and waach a movie or sumfin."
and they did.

next up: nature center complete with dress-up clothes

the leather vest
(i love the bent left knee!)

shua feeling slightly above the dress-up games

daniel decking his older brother out in a shawl

madison and dylan... so precious :)

haley turned the vest into a baby carrier

one last look at the vest

PRO TOUR--8 MONTHS

we found ourselves lacking mid-day entertainment;
we went bowling.

(mandy, did i use that semicolon right??)

no afternoon is complete without a temper tantrum.

its become apparent
that one of our charming two year old's goals
is to keep us in check/on our toes.
at all times.
even at buckeye lanes.

because heaven forbid
we should do anything too fun for too long.

**for the record, the Jaj has still got it. he smoked mark and shua. i was close :) however, i should probably share that i am currently wearing a wrist guard, an ice pack and taking ibuprofen every 6 hours. well played, dad. well played.

2nd time around

be honest
(or maybe just humor me).
you've all attempted something kinda scary,
way-the-heck-out of your comfort zone
for the very first time,
and totally rocked it.

and then,
all jazzed about how amazing you are,
not to mention gifted,
you dive in for Round Two.

and blow it.

let's just say i'm ever-so-grateful
that the majority of you, dear readers,
are far enough away
you won't ever see this latest haircut.

those of you closer to the damage,
kindly avert your eyes.
pretend you don't see the long hairs,
the ridiculous cowlick,
the scraggly patches in back.

the section above his right ear?
that place where there is very, Very little hair?
well, that particular one is his fault.

so, so necessary
look at the hair in front of his ears.
we could tuck it behind them.
n o t r i g h t
the refreshing Make It Stop Itching! bath
he WAS NOT this cute during the cut
not by a longshot :)
